How to Remove Specific Pages from a PDF

April 8, 2025 · FreePDFNest Team

Removing pages from a PDF is a common need — delete blank pages, remove a cover page you don't need, cut out irrelevant sections, or trim a document before sharing.

How to Remove Pages

The trick is to think of it as "keeping the pages you want" rather than "removing pages you don't." Here's how:

Step 1: Go to FreePDFNest Split PDF and upload your document.

Step 2: Select "Extract Pages" mode.

Step 3: Enter the page numbers you want to KEEP. For example, if you have a 20-page PDF and want to remove pages 5-8, enter "1-4,9-20".

Step 4: Click "Split PDF" — your new PDF contains only the pages you specified.

Common Scenarios

Remove first page (cover): Enter "2-" to keep everything except page 1.

Remove last page: Enter "1-19" for a 20-page document.

Remove blank pages: Identify the blank page numbers by scrolling through, then exclude them from your range.

Remove middle section: Enter "1-5,15-30" to skip pages 6-14.

Quality

Extracting pages is a lossless operation — the pages you keep are identical to the originals. No compression, no re-rendering, no quality degradation.
