How to Merge PDF Files with Images Into One Document

April 2, 2025 · FreePDFNest Team

Sometimes you need to create a single document from a mix of PDFs and images — a report with photo appendices, a portfolio mixing documents and screenshots, or an application package with scanned documents and digital forms.

Two-Step Workflow

Step 1: Convert images to PDF

Go to FreePDFNest Image to PDF and upload all your images (JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF). They'll be converted into a single PDF with one image per page. Download this PDF.

Step 2: Merge everything

Go to FreePDFNest Merge PDF and upload all your PDFs plus the newly created image PDF. Drag to arrange them in the correct order, then click Merge.

Tips

Page order matters: Before merging, make sure your image PDF has the photos in the right sequence. You can control this in Step 1 by uploading images in order.

Compress after merging: If the final document is too large (especially with high-res photos), run it through Compress PDF to reduce the file size.

Add page numbers: After merging, use Page Numbers to add consistent numbering across the entire combined document.
