How to Extract Specific Pages from a PDF

May 1, 2025 · FreePDFNest Team

Extracting pages from a PDF is one of the most practical document skills. Instead of sending a 50-page report when your colleague only needs pages 12-15, extract just those pages and send a focused, smaller file.

How to Extract Pages

Step 1: Go to FreePDFNest Split PDF and upload your PDF.

Step 2: Select "Extract Pages" mode and enter your page numbers. You can use individual numbers (1,3,5), ranges (1-5), or combinations (1,3,5-8,12).

Step 3: Click "Split PDF" to create a new PDF containing only your selected pages.

Page Selection Examples

"5" — Extracts only page 5.
"1-5" — Extracts pages 1 through 5.
"1,3,5" — Extracts pages 1, 3, and 5 (skipping 2 and 4).
"1-3,7,10-12" — Extracts pages 1-3, page 7, and pages 10-12.
"5-" — Extracts from page 5 to the end.

Use Cases

Share specific sections: Send only the relevant chapter, not the entire book.
Remove sensitive pages: Extract only the non-sensitive pages for sharing.
Create handouts: Pull specific slides from a presentation PDF for distribution.
Archive selectively: Keep only the pages you need for your records.
