You've written the email, attached the PDF, clicked send — and got rejected. Gmail allows 25MB, Outlook allows 20MB, and corporate email often limits to 10MB. Here's how to fix it.
Email Attachment Limits
Gmail: 25MB total (all attachments combined).
Outlook.com: 20MB.
Yahoo Mail: 25MB.
Corporate/Enterprise: Often 10-15MB, sometimes as low as 5MB.
How to Compress
1. Go to Compress PDF.
2. Upload your PDF.
3. Choose Medium compression for a good balance of size and quality.
4. If still too large, try High compression.
Expected Results
A 48MB scanned report typically compresses to 5-8MB at Medium quality. A 30MB presentation with photos usually reduces to 4-6MB. Text-heavy documents like contracts may only reduce by 20-30%.
Still Too Large?
If compression alone isn't enough, split the PDF into smaller parts and send as separate emails. Or upload to Google Drive/Dropbox and share a link instead.
